Dawn French, the Vicar of Dibley to Miss Marple to Lark Rise to Candleford, she has certainly been in a few things, but she has also lost nearly 7 and a half stone.

In 2011, Dawn French appeared much thinner, having been large for many years, it was speculated that she’d had a gastric band fitted or had lost the weight following her marriage with Lenny Henry broke down.
Having been large for many years, Dawn has said that her fans thought that being fat was ok because French was fat.
Five years ago, Dawn’s doctors were convinced that she had uterine cancer and advised her it was in her best interests to have a hysterectomy. She was, at the time, 19st and her doctors also advised her that they would be able to carry out the operation via keyhole if she lost some weight, this meant that she would be near enough back to normal in three weeks versus a three months if she had an open operation.
French went on to lose weight, spurred on by the fact that she would be able to have keyhole surgery at the end of it and a much shorter recovery period.
Through “tiny, joyless low-cal eating” as Dawn says she managed to lose 7st 7lb and was able to have the keyhole.
Dawn has continued to lose over the past few years and continues to do so.
